Widebeams on Bridgewater

Featured Posts

(Bear with me; first time posting pictures. Hope this works! B))

I thought members might be interested in some widebeam traffic on the Bridgewater. They were seen yesterday, Friday June 23rd, in the Altricham/Sale area. Boats were heading towards Warrington and IMO were a magnificent sight and sound. Almost, but not quite, in convoy.

Thank you for the lovely pictures, the very large barge, Parbella is one of mine. All three, plus another L&L short boat, Ribble, that was up ahead, are all moored at Bedford Basin in Leigh and have been to the Lymm Transport Festival. They certainly turn a few heads when out, and the kids love Parbella now we have reinstated her wheel as she looks like a pirate ship!

Think I spot Chris Leah of the wooden canal boat society relaxing alongside Hazel there.

I had all the fun of Taking Bargus Along with Jay to Sale towing Chris Leah on Hazel on Sunday evening. Great fun towing on such a deep waterway.
