In this 1970's shot, it looks like Peacock had gained a railway nameplate to fit on the cab- was this the case

Its a GWR nameplate which was removed when the owner sold the craft on. Peacock now rots away at the BCLM underused and like so many other floating exhibits in musuems would be better preserved on the hard in a building or covered area.

Ah, was it a GWR Bulldog 4-4-0 by chance?

Im sure she still had this when I visited with a mutual friend of the owner - think? early 90's..

One of the two "Peacock" nameplates sold at Auction in Crewe in April for £9000, whether it was the one off the boat I don't know.

The name plate is from a bulldog class was the left side i beleive, when peacock was sold the name plate was given to swindon where the engine was built.
