Fuel in oil

This is a known problem on the SR and some other Listers. The injectors and asociated pipework are inside the engine, so if you get a leak, fuel drains into the sump, and your oil level on the dipstick is apparently rising.

You need to remove the side covers and search for the leak.  There is more detailed advice on the forum if you can find it.

I've had this twice on the SR2. Both times it was the leak-off - the second time it was almost impossible to spot the crack in the pipe and it really didn't look as if that was where the fuel was coming from.  But replacing it sorted it... after we'd done loads of other things we thought it might be.

ETA have a look at www.marineengine.co.uk/LubricatingOilDilution.pdf  - everything you ever wanted to know about leaky Listers.  But it'll still be the leak off...

Apparently Listers can run on up to 60% fuel dilution, so as long as you keep an eye on it and change the oil before it gets too thin they should be OK!
