Lister FR2 air filter

Can any FR owners tell me what they are using as an air filter? In my big green can there is a cylindrical paper filter with orange rubber ends of unknown make and age. It is obviously not original or as far as I can tell a Lister product. I can knock the dust out of it periodically but it would be nice to have a spare.

I've just checked in the parts list. It should be a series of 6 flat filter elements. My supplier hasn't got any but I'm inquiring of my filter specialist.

Otherwise if you can give me some measurements of your existing element, or the space if has to fit into I'll see what I can find.

The original filter also has a little box full of oil clipped to the slot on the underside. There's some sort of cyclone arrangement that ejects dust through  the slot whereupon it's captured by the oil. A service task is to clean out the box and half fill it with new engine oil.

Yes, I can see that in the manual, but I guess all that went when the engine was restored and changed to a paper cartridge filter, possible because of the non-availability of the original. Unfortunately whoever did it didn't record the origin of the new filter. I think I'll take it along to a motor factors and see if they can match it.

Hi, many thanks, I couldn't work out what the picture in the manual was showing. The element in there is 6 1/2" long, o/s diameter is 5" and inside 3 1/2".

I'll look through what I have and see if there's something suitable.
