Craggys Boat Yard contact details

Hi all

I need my hull blackened. I am in Aldridge and have boat booked in at Norton Canes, Tamworth but it's quite a trek and I can't live aboard whilst being done. Someone suggested Craggy's in Tipton but the landline number given does not work. Does anyone have any recent contact details for them, are they still in operation?

Thanks Thomas

Bit confused here. Norton Canes isn't in Tamworth but it's not far from Aldridge. Certainly closer by boat than Caggys?

Norton Canes Boatbuilders took over Steve  Hudson's premises at Glascote Basin to undertake maintenence from. They still build boats and undertake maintence at their original Norton Canes premises.

As a part of the Norton Canes team, I'd like to clarify the situation. The premises and moorings remain at the Norton Canes site though production has ceased there. Graham still looks after things in retirement.

Daughter Sarah is running the Glascote operation offering moorings and a full range of boatyard services. Things are busy on all fronts.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Surely this can't be surprising? You booked a slot, that means others will have been denied a slot as they are very busy, now you can't be bothered to get your boat there, so NC will have lost the income from your job, and I think that keeping your deposit is a small compensation. If you could just get your deposit back on a whim, what would be the point of a deposit in the first place?

All that said I imagine that the slot will be filled, though to be honest if it was my business I'd just say the deposit was non-refundable, end of. And then perhaps make an individual decision on the merits of a cancellation e.g. sickness/bereavement vs "changed my mind".
