Cloudinspector
We recently found out that my wife's great grandparents operated a horse boat serving the potteries. We think they ran from Runcorn to Stoke and the boat may have been called wild rose or something similar. Information is sketchy at the moment until we speak further with her relatives. Where would I start to search for more information?
AMModels
Can you give any idea of the era you are talking about? There are a few people on the site who may be able to provide details of boat and also genealogy if you can provide a bit more information. Captain Pegg
A name would be better. I reckon we could deduce the era. Searching census records is a good start. These will make note of those records that are obtained from vessels on the canal and in the late 19th century and early 20th century will probably also record the name of the vessel.
