When we visited two years ago we read various comments suggesting the secure moorings outside the Bel and Dragon, which we then used. (Much emphasis on the word "secure" in all the comments)

As I understand it, just popping in for a drink is regarded as adequate recompense.

If I remember rightly, that's also on the Prison Loop.

The gate in the fence to get onto dry land had a chain and padlock on it and I asked a member of staff if they could unlock it for us.

Knowing nothing about it, he got the boss to come an have a look......who pointed out that the chain and lock was just hanging there, the gate wasn't actually locked. It was just thjat after reading all the comments I assumed it was!!!

Had a pleasant evening in the B & D. Not cheap, though.
