Locks 7 to lock 13 flight closed to allow for works to Lock 9, Buckby to reduce water loss.

That's really really bad timing for people going to the Crick Show.

It was pretty obvious that solving water loss problems at lock 8 would cause issues further down the locks. 

The flight was shut for 6 or  weeks, they could easily have done something then.
