Wood and Prep for Castles

Featured Posts

After 16 years some of our castle paintings are looking pretty rough. They are painted on squares of plywood which are now failing. They are very unusual but its likely that we will be crossing paths with the artist who painted them in a few weeks time. I urgently need to get some new plywood (or other?) squares and do all the preparation so that she can paint some new ones.

Any hints and tips from those experienced in these things on the best wood to choose and suitable preparation would be really useful.

The best ply would be birch, though you would need to source it from a timber merchant rather than the DIY sheds. I make and decorate cabin doors, I have offcuts here which would do. PM me if I can help further
