Long-term boat rental France

Hi folks,

We're new to boating and are looking to rent a motor boat (not a sail-boat) for 3-4 months over the summer in France this year for my wife's big birthday.

We've seen people enquire about this in England but not France ...

Does anyone have any recommendations for companies who do this please?

I suppose any hire boat co. would consider it if you offer enough cash but hire boats in France tend to be a bit like broads cruisers - fibreglass and chrome. The little Penichettes are in my opinion quite good little boats and more homely than many but they are still a bit like caravans. I think you will struggle to rent privately, most owners would baulk at renting their own boat and they will probably be using it themselves in the summer. 3 - 4 months is a long time for a holiday, its a bit different if its your home. I would suggest 2 -3 weeks in perhaps Burgundy and see if you are still ok with it, if you are you might get a couple of weeks in Sept.
