zenataomm
I've just spotted this on MSN News/Evening Standard. Dreadfully sad, must have been awful and total sympathies to the young lady concerned. The link is here The comments within the article that concerned me were ..... -The student at the College of Naturopathic Medicine said a weed hatch, used to access the propeller, had accidentally been left open ...... -Miss Deakin, who had only rented the boat for a short while ................. -The owner of the boat, Robert Wright said the sinking “broke his heart”. “I had the best seven years of my life on that boat - it was my baby,” he said. To Miss Deakin he said: “So happy you got her back up and I hope it all works out for you.” Luckily there was no fatalities, and she got Freddy the Teddy out. I do wonder just how legal this rental was, and whether the more stringent rules etc. for a hire boat were in force? The owner sounds like he's washing his hands of it regarding sorting out the devastation caused.
Tim Lewis
The site was a bit slow on the news, this has been all over Facebook since the boat sank last Saturday. Tim
