We will be removing the swing bridge at Bardney, which will affect the use of Bardney Lock. 

These works will last for 3 weeks, commencing on the 24th April.

If boaters require passage through the lock, then please allow 30 to 45 minutes while our workmen make the site safe for use.

Please follow advice given on site.

Ingress they would struggle to get any sort of road crane there to just lift it off or truck to take it away so I imagine it will be a workboat with Hiab and dismantle it piecemeal. Though I don't really know why they don't just let it to continue mouldering away.

Or are they going to replace it?

No need for it anymore. The farmer doesn't need access across the lock.

There are some notices attached to it from well before we started boating in 2008 when they were originally going to remove it!

Hopefully they will actually get rid of it this time. It does tend to get in our way as we go down the lock as we use the port side of the boat.
