Simple water question

It's a funny thing, but in fourteen years of hiring, there was never a reason for this question to be raised.

Now that our lovely new boat is almost ready, I need a tiny bit of simple info, please.

What is the diameter of the screw on the CART water tap?  I need to buy the right bit for my hose.

If you get 1/2" and 3/4" BSP fittings you should be OK

3/4" BSP is the usual.  Some have both 3/4" and 1/2" BSP - you can get adaptors - and some have 3/4" and a hosetail.  I've met all of them plus a few other less common variants.

As above, but carry a couple of spare sealing washers, they have an annoying habit of falling out and you don't realise it until you are at the next tap.

You can get a nice brass one for just over a quid.  Buy 2 or 3 as you will occasionally forget to take it off the tap.

They don't come much better than these or Gardenia. I have a slack handful of plastic ones, but these are the best. Never left one behind (but will now, obviously), never lost a washer, never used the adapter.

I have used an adaptor once, but cant remember where but it was a new tap.
