Carpenters Road Lock Restoration

A couple of photos of the restoration of Carpenters Road Lock which is in the Queen Elizabeth (Olympic) Park near the stadium. The lock when opene in May will connect the top of the Bow Back River/Old River Lea to the Waterworks River.

Good stuff: I've cruised past both sides of this lock pre Olympics and indeed pre three mills lock.City Mill lock parallels it and I've been through that a few times as well. This will be another one to chalk up when it's ready!

And the official opening yesterday. The fenders on the gate are really quite something - very large springs. A game of dodgems would be quite tempting ...
