You can try the Lichfield and Hatherton canal trust, see

and you can view one of the 7 wonders of the M6 toll road...

I wonder what that empty steel aqueduct is doing with no embankment crossing the M6 Toll near Brownhills lol?

I would suggest sections of the Manchester, Bury and Bolton canal would be suitable and atmospheric for a photographer. The flight from the new Meccano bridge is being dug out and the very old breach above is only a short walk.

There are lots of sections in water...just.., other bits dry...other parts need lots of work to clean them up.

It's a fascinating walk towards Manchester.

The Manchester, Bolton and Bury is definitely an interesting one, and the link with the Irwell requires better recognition even if they are new locks.

In the North West near Warrington there are elements of the previous Mersey & Irwell Canal cuts

Apart from the lock that linked with the Weaver,I am not sure what else remains on the Runcorn and Weston.

Then there are the altered routes where the canal was diverted, On the Grand Union (old Grand Junction) where the canal crosses the Great Ouse by that fine aqueduct, there were four temporary locks down to the river and four back up again
