Athy
The agents Knight Frank (formerly & Rutley) have a history of doing big deals: their previous sales include Stonehenge and Reigate (yes, all of it).

The area between Welshpool and Newtown is about 45 mins to Shrewsbury, 1 1/4hr to Aberystwyth, 11/4hr to Hereford(depending on exact location),generaly English speaking(although Welsh is spoken in some areas),and is a very pleasant area to live. We chose this area although we could have lived anywhere in the country,We have never regretted our decision. Ditto! And Churchward has actually moved to Wales now! I Spartacus
I think these days it would be hard to find something with a mooring, and at a good price. A friend of mine bought a lockies house on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire a good few years back, it does have two moorings, but if it was on the market today it would still be well out of my price range.
