Pop quiz: Where am I? :)

Ok history fans, who can tell what part of what canal I took these pictures on? They are all taken within a few hundred yards of each other. I have a few more, but they might give the game away!

I also have a second set from a different canal and area to post later. smile.png

Spot on bobtom.

My word that takes me back a bit. I worked there for about a year and a half when I was 18. I'm sure, when I was even younger, that the canal was a bit more navigable.

Isn't there a trip boat running along that stretch somewhere?

Bobtom, correct :)

This is the remainders of the Swansea canal, and Lock Clydach.

No, no powered boats navigate it now- I could see right to the bottom in the centre of the channel and it was maybe 2ft deep max, much less at the banks on the stretch I was in.

More pics of the Swansea if anyone is interested:

PS, FTS, I haven't spent a night in Braunston since the rally! :)

Oops, forgot to leave a reply.

Ooh, yes please.

The last time I was down that way, sometime ago now, I meant to take some photos of the Ponty section up to the Knoll but, alas, just a fleeting visit.

I was only there very briefly on xmas eve, getting some pics for an article. It was very rainy so the ones I got were a bit dark!

I would be grateful if you could point me to the article if it has been printed.

You've certainly sent me on a trip down memory lane.

No problem, will do. It will be in Towpath Talk, possibly not the next one as they may not have room, but I will let you know which edition when the editor tells me.

I also have another set of pics from a different canal (for a different future article) if you want to see those! smile.png
