Which book on engine maintenance is the best?

Featured Posts

I've got this book by Nigel Calder, don't know if it's any good (not read yet!) but it's by the same author of this one which is good.

Does not that second boat you mention include most of what is needed as far as eng maintenance is concerned? Does it have good explanatory graphics?

I bought the first of those, and think it contains a lot more useful information than some of the more lightweight books.

Obviously not all of it is strictly relevant to the average narrow boat engine, but then I think that applies to most books you might consider.

Far more informative than the RYA Diesel Engine Handbook referred to in the first post, IMO, but you need to make your own mind up how much detail you are actually after.
