Hi all, and happy Friday.

Tomorrow morning, Operation Idiots kicks off.

Operation Idiots sees 3 Idiots attempting to navigate from just North of Leicester to Beeston Marina on the Trent in a single November day.

Here's the twist... The idiots will be doing the trip in a 3 meter rotomolded Jeanneau Rigiflex dingy.

Watch out for updates (and pictures and vids) throughout the day... A real boys own adventure from people who should know better.

Canalplanner says 25 miles and 16 locks....

A doddle then! Next trip try Piccadilly basin to slattocks on the Rochdale . Approx 9hrs 8miles 31locks, 20 rolls of barbed wire, 9placky bags, too much water, no water, gates padlocked that should be open, .......

Edited to add approximation of canalplan with added dramatic licence. (CCers have to pay extra for that, it's free with a mooring permit)

Yes we did... We made it here ages before were supposed to..

So we're drinking beer.

Of course you made it - Apart from the lack of shelter thats a easy trip!!!! (Have to say Fuzz, surprised you made it past the Hope , or Sorrell !) There must have been an agreement that you would buy the beers if you stopped before Beeston ?????

I suspect you were travelling in excess of the speed limit (Well you normally are when we meet you!)

Do I need to bring the trailer down to Beeston for the trip home ?

we passed the pubs before they opened, so had to settle for a shop stop in luff.

ran aground on the trent, an so nearly died(well not quite)

the dinghy did about 60mph on the way back
