Red Bull Visitor Moorings

For those of you passing through Red Bull near Harecastle on the Trent & Mersey Canal...

 

For moment I'd advise against mooring up around the Red Bull services on the 48hr moorings

 

. We left a boat there for 48hrs from Sunday to Tuesday. Unfortunately after collecting the boat had been entered from the front end of the cabin. Food, a sleeping bag and jewellery had been removed. There has been no sign of forced entry. This has been reported to the police and British Waterways have been made aware.

That's a real shame, they are lovely moorings and we had friends who lived aboard for years just above the lock without incident.

it is a shame,I liked stopping there for a few days just below the next couple of locks,ive also stopped at red bull itself,good washing machine and nice showers.

 

lets hope its a one off.

think you have had enough bad luck without that happening always a worry when leaving your boat anywhere i usualy stop around for a couple of days to suss out the area before leaving but not everyone has the time to do that
