I got mine made by Outback at Pershore (01386 555200). My boat was in Tewkesbury, so I'd be fairly sure that they would travel as far as Gloucester.

Did a decent job, and will probably give you better advice on materials than I can.

Does anyone know of someone or recommend anyone who could travel to the Gloucester area to supply and fit a cratch cover and cratch board to a narrowboat which will be situated on the Gloucester to Sharpness canal. Whats the best material to use.Cheers

The best material is the one you can afford, probably best to be advised by the cratch cover maker.

 

Ours is of similar material to the soft tops of cars, not cheap.

 

(I do not know how much ours cost as it came with the boat)

We called in at AJ Canopies at Braunston when we were passing through. Nice product but too far away from you. They offered a plastic leathercloth, an acrylic canvas and, best of all, a mohair which is like the hood on my Mazda and really nice.

Kinver Canopies did ours in Feb and a bloody good job they made too. From measure up to fitting - 3 weeks. Jovial crew who chat while they work. They travelled from Worcs to Newbury to do the job. Might not be the cheapest, but for the service received, I would recommend them.
