Fenders, ropes etc....

Hi all,

Sorry if this has asked before but I couldn't find what I was looking for.... I'm about to take delivery of my Widebeam and I need to purchase side fenders and ropes etc.... Would someone be kind enough to give some answers to the following...

Side fenders, how many and what size is recommended?

Ropes - For side fenders and boat ropes to secure to marina pontoon/bank any others needed?

Front button - is there a standard size/style?

Is there anything I might have forgotten?

Also, is there any recommendations on suppliers who are reasonable in their pricing?

Thanks again and sorry for asking such a basic question....

A few to start with:

Side fenders - depends on how long your boat is

Rear fenders - protrude beyond the rudder.

Bow fender - a button should suffice.

As ever in the boating world, get the most expensive you can afford - buy cheap, get cheap

If you're getting the boat built a very useful feature would be a ring welded/bolted through the roof big enough to take two centrelines. If you are on a new canal or river and you're not sure which side the next lock landing is on it will save you having to flick the rope over any obstructions on the roof.Even if you didn't want two centrelines it would be good to have the option if you changed your mind later.
