After much talk of the need to improve the handling of common or repeat topics a new sub forum area has been created under the title of 'Frequently Asked Questions' held within the 'Boating' area of the forum.

The Frequently Asked Questions Area Rules and Guidelines

This new forum area is used to Store and View threads relating to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's). The threads ideally contain pertinent, concise and accessible information on the topic in question and are designed as a general introduction to the topic. These topics are also 'pinned' and will hence appear favorably within the site search results.

Replies are allowed and encouraged if they add to the topic in question and follow the advice above, however replies deviating from the topic or discussing details well outside of the original scope may be split off into there own thread and moved outside of the FAQ section to maintain the concisness and accessibility of the origanal thread.

Topics/thread that exist in other areas of the forum may automaticaly be be moved into the FAQ thread by the site moderators if they deem them to be suitable for the section.

If you have seen thread that covers a topic you feel would benefit from being moved to within the FAQ area, please use the 'report post' feature to alert the moderators to its existence, detailing that you feel it should or could become an FAQ and the reasons you feel it should be included. If the moderation staff agree they will move the topic into the FAQ section.

Furthermore, if you have the time or inclination, please feel free to play and active roll in selecting and writing suitable threads and topics to be selected for in the FAQ section. A thread containing a list of suggested topics is located below this one at the bottom of the FAQ section.

Disclaimer: These topics have been grouped in the thread for your convenience and interest from past posts on the forum made my our members who may or may not have professional knowledge of the area in question, they do not necessary reflect the opinions of the site owner or the moderating team and may not in places be correct or accurate. Please bear this in mind while reading the FAQ section or any other part of the site and feel free to ask further questions, search for other past topics on the subjects of interest, or go on to seek professional advice on the subject area.
