Ugly Boats

Naughty Cal

Featured Posts

Well the first one is probably belonging to an art student who wants to copy the Shoreham coach boat, the second is a nicely shaped ferro yacht that has been canvassed over as a liveaboard, probably out of necessity and the owners of the third are no doubt more interested in the fish they take home than how pretty their rod rest is.

Yep! That's where I went too . . .

We can't all go there, or Carl will think we are all Allan Jones!

Actually, it sounds like it's him who badly needs the opticians.

It's just jealousy, Phylis, isn't it ?

You can see how well the prop is protected, and you wish you had one now.

I can vouch for specsavers ones.

Over about 12 years mine have had new lenses, hinges, arms and various screws (like the old brush) but the middle bit which hold the lenses is original.

They have survived being sprayed with paint, dropped then cycled over, dropped then run over (in an XC) and even an explosion which blew them off my face and one of the lenses out.

They aren't very trendy looking. Think Donald Pleasance.

Come to think of it I look a bit battered myself.

(actually, it is an ugly boat in my view, reminds me of a fat woman for some reason!! )

You picked the wrong side. She looks much better on the other side. And that isnt a twisted thing to say. She has more windows on the other side.

There is a poem which starts (I think)

"Oh fat white woman whom nobody loves"

I know what you mean

Ah. Here's a bit more:

O Fat White Woman who nobody loves,

Why do you walk through the fields in gloves,

When the grass is soft as the breast of doves,

And shivering sweet to the touch?

Oh why do walk through the fields in gloves

Missing so much and so much?
