Greetings all!

Has anyone come across a locking fuel cap to replace a standard brass deck fitting.

Thought it might be a good idea with regards to the future fuel prices.

Many thanks

Steve

I got some desel nicked about 18 months ago, but couldn't find a locking cap as such. It was quite simple to make one with two small padlocks, so that is what I did.

Doesn't answer your off the shelf query, but this is what we had fabricated by Bath Narrowboats:

The hole matches a second one in the filling guard, which then locks with a padlock.

Will this pass the BSS? The dam is there to prevent fuel spilling into the boat during refueling, drilling a hole in it makes it useless.

Good point. A small bung permanantly attached to a chain should be enough to pass the BSS.

Yes, it did.

The dam is higher than normal.

The bung sounds like a good idea just in case the inspector has a bad day though.
