I've a 20yr old boat and a number of the window seals have shrunk in length. Probably a bit hard as well. Mainly fixed glazing with opening hoppers at the tops. Does anyone recognise the profile of the seals on the outside? They just 'jam' the glazing in position and don't grip the glass. Most of the products on-line seem to fit onto the glass. The straight profile to the left in the piccie is all that remains visible when fitted.

No! - not that kind. There have been a few posts in various areas about water/wind getting in. I came across a good solution to one or two problems that I had on a recent visit to Lidl/Aldi (??which). Sold under the Powerfix Profi brand it is described as 'W' profile rubber seal. This one came in 2 rolls @ 5m long of self adhesive spongy rubber seal. It seems to be readily available on line and in various materials and sizes so you should be able to find one that fits your problem. Hi All, I'm just wondering if anyone else has experience with ordering the grp window and porthole liners from Procast in Nottinghamshire? (specifically the liners, not their general chandlery, and not Wesley Marine Windows, who I know also make them) I ordered a full set for my boat (5 window liners and 4 porthole liners) at a cost of well over £600 which, as you'd expect I had to pay on order. I was told they would be approximately 2 weeks, as they make them to order. After 3 weeks I started chasing and was given an excuse why they were late, I accepted it, but they still didn't show up, this has been an ongoing weekly farce ever since. I keep being told they will get some (or all) of them out that week, then the weekend comes and goes and I chase again. So far I've received the 4 portholes, but one was warped and another damaged in transit, so I still only have 2 out of the 9 which I ordered over 2 months ago. Has anyone else ordered their GRP liners and had the same problem? I did try looking up reviews for the company before I ordered but couldn't find anything specifically related to the fibreglass window liners. Perhaps I should have asked here first :-/ Cheers, Steve

I bought my boat on a good survey a few weeks ago. One of the main things the surveyor pointed out was that the stainless steel screws securing the windows were rusting and should be replaced before they become too corroded to unscrew. Some are clean and shiny, some very rusted, one head has come off. He recommended replacing them all with aluminium pop rivets as these last well and are easy to drill out. Can stainless steel screws rust in this situation, and if so what advice do you have for remedies here? The windows all seem fine so I don't want to remove them all prematurely if I can avoid it. For the moment I've just sprayed them with WD40 and taken one out to look at. It is 1 1/4" self tapping and I'm skeptical that it is stainless - maybe galvanised? I know nothing about boats or screw materials so any comments welcome, particularly... Would simply replacing these screws would be adequate? If so, what with? Thanks
