Hi all, I was hoping somebody could answer my question regarding flue pipe. I 've had a search on google to find an answer to this question but have not seen anything specific enough to put my mind at rest. I am in the process of finalising a boat that I bought at the start of summer, I have built a hearth and fireproof tiled backpanel to safety spec to ensure I won't go up in flames, however I fear I may have been hasty in buying the flue pipe for the inside of the boat. The pipe I have purchased is vitreous single skinned enameled pipe (to the correct 4inch diameter for my acorn stove) but it is incredibly thin compared to other flue pipes i have seen. I know it is important to fit a double skinned chimney but wondered if the vitreous pipe is fine for the internal cabin (I know this may or may not technically pass the safety for a new installation but my main concern is will it be safe? I have noticed that some of the joints also have two holes drilled in and wondered apart from using fire cement whether there are any joint pieces that I may need to fit? I do want to try and make this installation as safe as possible but as you can see still have the odd concern, any help will be much appreciated, thanks, Pete :-)

My regular steel built in water tank has an over flow pipe which snapped when we were doing work. Can I just seal it up or will this cause an issue with pressure in the tank? How would I replace a snapped over flow pipe? This is the only way in getting air into the tank. Thanks!

Hello all, I currently have a brass pump fitted to a length of black 'rubber' hose from the oil sump (is that correct? I'm fairly new to engines...) which is used to change the oil. I would like a longer length of hose (perhaps 80cm-1m) so the pump can actually be bolted to the bulkhead to be more secure and accessible than being cable tied to the support for the engine surround as it currently is. Can anyone please advise me on the type of hose to buy? Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Hello Everyone, I have had to resort to a post about this as tonight I feel defeated !! after 2 months of battling with a leak in my engine room, I really thought I had it sussed ! - I have had various things to the calorifier done, including expansion tank fitted and all the joints re done, (plumer was doing some other work did this) - I have reseated the calorifier skin fitting with CT1 as I noticed this wasnt very good, - I then found a small hole near another pipe exit, where a spot of weld was missing and filled this with CT1 , really thought this was it. And yet still I find water, and a fair amount !! Alot of people say check the prop but I really dont think its this and I regularly twist the knob, but I am going to attempt to completely repack this at the weekend. For now I have put a bowl under it., I have taken some photos and even a video to try and show the issue and am desperate for some advice, I had the boat surveyed recently and he said everything was in very good conditon so am dubious to think its the hull itself leaking but starting to feel that way. I did run the eberspecher this morning for hot water and it rained lots today. I have a cratch cover and cannot figure it out ! I wondered if it was coming in through the vents but they dont seem wet ? Any help greatly apreciate, it may stop me going totaly mad. I'm just about to try and put the 3/8" gas pipe in place in readiness for the gas man - I'm wondering if anyone has tips on working with it? Obviously it's in a roll at the moment - I think I saw somewhere about straightening by drawing through a hole drilled in a bit of wood? Or any other tips! ta,
