  1. I need new pump belts for Jabsco Par 36000 / 36950 water pumps. My spares list says 30022-0000 but the original belt is 35223-0000. Which is correct? There is another number on the belt, 1146 20. The 30022 are a fantastic price from Xylem Jabscoshop and I can't find another supplier. 55 teeth, 280mm length, 9mm wide but it will take a slightly wider belt. Any one able to help please?
  2. No, I'm not swapping out the tank for a standalone unit. My Jabsco (58040 series I'm told) has crapped itself. Fills with water no problem, but it won't empty. The pump kicks in, the water whirls, and tries to do it's bit, but I don't think it's pulling the water down. I've checked the one way valve (separate from the pump) and the rubber in it seems OK. I think the pump is at fault. Taking the pump separate from the pan I can put water down it, 'flush it', but I don't see much pressure from the pump outlet. Anyway, I'm having trouble finding replacement parts for the Jabsco (ones that won't take weeks to get here) and was wondering if it's probably just better, and cheaper, to buy a new pan and flush mechanism. Are manual/electric marine/sea toilets compatible with a pump-out tank? Things like the Jabsco manual twist and lock ones?
  3. Hi there and thanks to everyone that has helped me in the past (either through my posts or through gleaning much wisdom from others exploits).. I am slowly working through the long list of niggles in the interior re-fit of nb Kerbau which I live aboard in Liverpools albert dock, Im at the point of tackling the water system and have fitted a 3.5gpm shureflo pump with a 2 ltr accumulator tank right by the water tank. Now im certain that the batteries (2x 110ah) are not in the best state (two new ones are on the way) but even with the charger on i notice the lighting (all led) noticeably drop whenever the pump kicks in.. The pump is wired via a length of 6mm twin and earth fitted by the previous owner which is far beefier than the cable used for the pump on my last boat which had no such issue.. It seems like there is too great a voltage drop over the cable run and I am wondering if it is possible to fit the pump near the stern far closer to the batteries to reduce this factor. Before taking any rash steps though I thought i would ask you knowledgeable folk if theres any glaring reason why this cannot be pursued, with the boat always slightly bow up and the potential pump fitting spot literally on the base plate it should still be gravity fed to the pump which would be the only danger i can think of having the pump fitted so far away.. any advice greatefully received! merry christmas!
  4. Hey there Canal World, Wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas. In the off chance some somebody knows here - I'm trying to identify the inlet (filter) attached to this Jabsco par-max 1.9 water pump. It's not done yet, but I'm looking to find and purchase a spare, as soon as identify the brand name and model. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  5. I have an old BMC 1.5 / Thornycroft 90 fitted to my boat that is raw water cooled, unfortunately it is not pulling enough water through and has caused the engine to overheat leaving a trail of white steam behind me. I have been on the Jabscoshop website looking for a service kit but the only pump they show for this enging is a pedestal mount and the one fitted to my engine is engine mounted and crank driven. Ive tried to contact Jabscoshop for advice but to no avail can anyone point me in the direction of someone who can supply advice and a service kit for my water pump Cheers A
  6. Hello peeps... odd goings on here.. Had the kitchen lights on - LEDs drain of 0.3a according to the NASA BM1 monitor. Turned the tap on to do the washing up and the kitchen Lights flickered badly - got the OH to turn on the tap whilst I stared at the monitor.. the V went down from 13.1V to 10.3V and the alarm bell icon came on - never seen that before!! Amps discharge went up to 5.7 and rising... upon shutting off the pump (closing the tap) the V returned to 13.1 and the alarm bell icon went away. We are on a shoreline and the batteries are in reasonable health and showing 97% charge.. the pump does seem to be “running on” a tad more after the tap is turned off... does the panel think there may be a blockage in the pre-pump strainer or is my water pump nackered? (Ironically just picked up a spare - just in case!) Jabsco par-max 3.5... never had the strainer apart - probably a mistake- do I need to shut the valve just after the water tank to do this? Does a bunch of water piss out of it even if I shut the supply off... arse.... scared of flooding the place! ETA have looked at the pump and there are no leaks and the casing isn’t hot...
  7. I have a jabsco par-max 2.9 25 psi automatic fresh water pump, supplying all my hot and cold water requirements. In the last few days it will not shut down after running a tap. Have checked for leaks and airlocks and found none. Today it ran on for 5 minutes and whilst looking for clues noticed a "low volts" red light on my victron inverter. Started the engine and the pump stopped! Waited awhile and ran some electrical things until low voltage light came on and yes pump pressure switch did not cut flow. Ran engine, pump stopped. Measured batteries and got 11.8 v. This has never happened before and comes following a sludge problem with my fresh water tank after re-coating it. Can anyone shed any light on why the pressure switch has started to not work at a lowish voltage whilst all my other "low volts" indicators, fridge, dim lights etc are all ok ? Is there an adjustment on the pressure switch ? Should I remove the pump and flush it out ? I have cleaned the crap out of the mesh filter between the tank and the pump. Have also raised a topic about cold water sterilisation. Thanks
  8. We have a Jabsco 50880 as a shower drain pump. Its a diaphragm pump and generally works very well, but I have now had the inlet valve fail twice in a year. The failure is a split in the rubber around part of the lip at the circular end. This seems a short service life as we only use the boat for holidays, so its not much use in that time. Perhaps this is why they are called Joker valves? I can only locate spares as part of a spares kit at about £20. Jabsco list just the valve at approx £2 but I cannot find a stockist. As I bought a spares kit last year to get just a valve (I did not change the diaphragm) I would rather buy just the valves. Does anyone know of a stockist ? Thanks
  9. Hi I have recently taken ownership of a narrowboat with a jabsco water filter fitted. I am not sure how old the cartridge is or was. This morning the cartridge broke sending a flood of water everywhere. Luckily I had a spare and fitted it. However I found that the little blue clips that hold the main pipework in came out fairly easily. I have pushed them back in and turned water back on and the unit holds but I am now concerned to go out leaving the water on Is it good practice to turn the water off when leaving the boat to go to work? Are these reliable units or would I be better to take the filter out altogether Any thoughts apprecaited Thanks
