For a long time now, I've had a fancy to make a posable figure - a Mrs Jog naturally - & have been pondering the logistics of armatures, body structure etc. Then I discovered needle felting which, up to now, has totally escaped me as a craft.
So far, I have acquired a cheap, basic book & felting kit, which arrived yesterday. Then I started trawling Fleabay for some wool in browns/ neutral shades, to start off. That's where I came unstuck. I have no idea how far the wool will go & what amounts to start with. Some sellers are offering wool in 5gm/10gm/20gm amounts, some are offering a selection of colours, but no weight for comparison & I still have NO idea, what it looks like to estimate quantity.
I don't want to blow £20 ( I'm still waiting for my pension to get sorted out! ) to find I've too much or worse, not enough. I might even find that it's not my cup of tea & end up with more stuff shoved in a cupboard!
If anyone with more experience in these things, has an idea where I can buy a bag of stuff to start with, like an inexpensive supplier on the above site, I'd be very glad of the input. ( I have no idea how to tackle the spines with this either- but I need the wool to start off & play!)
Any further advice welcome! Ta muchly Joggers.
