  1. Ive had a freecom one for over 5 years now without any probs, works a treat from the laptop, highly recommend, i think maplins do a similer one
  2. Off topic but have to say love ya logo, what a band, dot dash!
  3. Back to nature by Magazine from an ablum called 2nd hand daylight bliss!
  4. Thanks Billy Was thinking of trying this but with some PTFE tape wrapped around the head of the screw, great idea about the araldite, would it cope with the temperature of the cylinder?
  5. Thank you Is this just ordinary solder?
  6. Thanks for all your thoughts I have managed to get the leak down to a dribble now thanks to Jenlyns putty(thank you) but not fixed completely, was wondering how effective/easy it would be to silver solder or braze? and if anyone has done this, how you do it and what would i need, also how effective JB weld is thanks for any replies Monty
  7. Thanks Jenlyn i have sent you a message with me phone number if you are about this way i will be here till Friday, if not i no your boat i will see around Uxbridge thanks again
  8. Thanks for replies So in the mean time to allow me to run the engine & move i must: turn the cold feed off the water cylinder leave the hot feed open leave the hot tap on open & turn my water pump off
  9. Thanks for your replies I will turn the cold water feed off so i can run my engine without water spurting everywhere until i can fix the problem properly. Jenlyn i am normally at Denham marina but have a weeks hols at the moment and am at Harefield, do you no what the stuff is called at Halfords? thanks Monty
  10. Hi all, I have just discovered a pin hole near the top of my hot water cylinder is this repairable? or is there a way i can isolate the cylinder to allow me to run the engine still until i can repair/replace without the water coming out of the pin hole Its a 1.5 BMC engine with 2 hoses going from the engine into the cylinder and then 2 hoses with stop cocks going out of the cylinder to my domestic water If i turned these stop cocks off would that work? thanks for any replies Monty
  11. Sorry I have to agree with this to Rose, some people end up on boats for various reasons, maybe people in your marina have always had electric, so rather than being smug about it would it not be better to help them out instead and share your knowledge with them?
  12. I have a metal T piece on top of my boat fixed to the hand rail,i then use an extendable paint roller pole with my ariel attached to it ,this fits neatly over the T piece, the advantages for me is i can simply adjust the hight & angle, its also nice and light to take down when cruising
  13. Thanks for that arpeeuk and thanks for all the other replies I think i will try the paint first and see how it goes has anyone used anti-condensation paint? if so how effective is it. thanks monty m
  14. Hi all, would it be ok to stick rubber backed carpet tiles on the steal walls in my engine room to try to stop the condensation? thanks for any replies Monty

    Flue pipe

The top part of my flue pipe that is inside the boat is pretty near to the tung &groove side, i was thinking of putting a sheet of copper behind it, would this be ok to do? or are there better solutions, i was thinking of copper mainly because i think it would blend in better with the tung & groove. any thoughts
