  1. For reading try an EBook reader. I have the Sony PRS505 and get books from loads of places.
  2. We will be there on Sat & Sun, together with other owners. Cheers
  3. Stopped at Congerstone on Friday, the Horse & Jockey appears to be closed, no optics, glasses behind the bar etc. Not boarded up and no signs in windows, but does not look good.
  4. We got some to use as spares at Sawley, but I have seen them in most chandleries. R
  5. Me too!! Was there from opening until Jul 04 when I went to Akrotiri. There were some huge Carp in that lake, would have been too easy to catch though.
  6. We have been to the Boathouse at Barrow a couple of times lately (on Ally's recommendation) and found it good, nice big garden and decent food. There is another pub and an Indian across the road as well. There is (limited) mooring outside. Beacon are showing 'Windsong' at the Sawley open weekend 20/21 June, so we may well see you on the river, chance of a beer, beer, beer
  7. Correct, but on the first time looking at the topic, it can take a while, and that is on Firefox and Chrome. It really just comes down to good posting ettiquette. Sorry it's just a hangover from spending a lot of time on usenet groups, not really being grumpy
  8. Not being at home tonight, I am using a slow mobile broadband. It really does make a difference not having to D/L photos again and again.
  9. We started to read a few blogs when we were planning the build of 'Windsong' and then decided to have one ourselves, mainly for friends and family to follow the build. We intend to keep it going when we are cruising, again for F&F (and also as a cruising record/diary for ourselves) to know where we are etc. As a bonus we have met some other bloggers, it was like meeting people you know well, but have never actually met (if you know what I mean)
  10. From the HMI engine website here HMI Engines

  12. Put me glasses on. Think it says 'North Lincs'
  13. You Sir are an absolute swine!!!!! Wanders off crying into non existant beer
  14. Put this on the wrong thread originally. Walked the Welford Arm and all around Foxton today with no luck. I gave one of the posters to the lockies at Foxton, who said they will keep an eye out for the boat. Nice day for it, Foxton was heaving with gongoozlers.
  15. Meant to put this in the other thread, have now done so if the Mods want delete it, feel free Walked the Welford Arm and all around Foxton today with no luck. I gave one of the posters to the lockies at Foxton, who said they will keep an eye out for the boat. Nice day for it, Foxton was heaving with gongoozlers.
  16. Will be checking Foxton/Mkt harboro area on Sun 29th March. Away from previous areas I know, but we were going anyway, so worth a look.
  17. Yes Gary and Lee work there, and they produce a quality product. We are very happy with our shell, they incorporated all the little things like locking fuel cover flaps that we asked for with no fuss and on time.
  18. I didn't really mean it to seem like that, I meant to highlight the need to find the boat.
  19. As the build of 'Windsong' draws to a close I have noticed that our shell supplier, XR&D are holding an open day on Sat 4th April. We have been very pleased with the quality and build of our shell and would recommend anyone who is looking for, or thinking about a shell to give them a visit. No connection to the company other than as satisfied customers.
  20. Following the link to the Distinctive Charters website from the blog, it appears to be further bad news for the owners as the site states We at Distinctive Charters, would like it to be known that the hire transaction was carried out without the knowledge of Distinctive Charters. Distinctive Charters pride themselves in carrying out in-depth identity checks of all hirers. In this instance the owners failed miserably, releasing the boat, relying on verbal information and receiving what turned out to be a dud cheque. Further more the insurers of the boat have decided that since the owners bypassed Distinctive Charters with this particular booking they will not cover the loss. It looks like they really need to find the boat and fast.

  22. The E160 & E160g dongles have a port on the side for an aerial connection. Boaters phone do a lead, or you can pick up mag aerials on Ebay.
  23. I'll definitely third that, seeing as they did a great shell for 'Windsong'
