  1. Sorry, just keep the "dreamer's" with the wide boat's down South, nothing against real boater's with narrow's, your more then welcome up North hope your not blonde, as I've enough of female dreamer's, would rather have a common sense brunette with a springer then a blonde with a widebeam.
  2. I think it was the sympathy thing that upset her, it has now however been removed by the moderator. If people take the time to read all the threads, posts and the magazine article attachment about this boat they will see that most of what I have an opinion on is quite true.
  3. Thought I would put it a bit closer for you to read and spot wrigglefingers
  4. maybe you need a thicker skin if you let things like this offend you so much, maybe you should read the very first post by the Thread starter "Sorry" and spot the word relating to female genitalia which I thought as a female you would find more offensive.
  5. nice to see a member that lives in the real world
  6. This situation will have no effect on me or the majority of people posting on this topic, but as you say it will be interesting to see what effect this has on the owner and will she aquire a mooring to accomodate her new lifestyle, or even move off the lock mooring for the time being, locals please let us know Thank's just go's to show that people take these forums too seriously, dosn't take the brains of a Bishop to know you don't moor on lock mooring 24/7 especially on a busy canal
  7. Sorry seams to make it all right, maybe you should read your previous posts on this matter http://www.canalworl...ndpost&p=774186 http://www.canalworl...ndpost&p=774198 http://www.canalworl...ndpost&p=774258
  8. Not comfortable lets see what happens if she is still there or moves to not cause an obstruction, I take my hat off to the member and members of the Forum who have brought it to everyone's attention as it doe's seam to be a problem with boats passing through that lock
  9. If you read all the posts, articles and the magazine articles you will see there pretty accurate assumptions. Oh seams to make a difference if you are a girl, is that an excuse to cause an obstruction and moor on Lock moorings? and according to the people who have encountered this boat she has had the chance to move her boat further back to not cause an obstruction
  10. Having read both article's on this Lady, she seams to be one of the many people coming on to the canal network through circumstances rather then choice who see it as a cheap place to live while still working in the area especially down on the Southern network who suddenly class themselves as "Boater's" which most people wouldn't mind if she was in a Marina or on an official mooring which could accommodate that size of boat, did she not research her new way of life before buying her boat and find out about moorings, size restrictions etc or was she carried away with living the dream and seeing a wow factor boat and lifestyle through rose coloured glasses? While reading the public article's about her being a teacher with a son, I doubt that she would be moving far from her place of work and as stated by other canal users in the area this seams to be the case, She says BW are aware of this due to personal circumstances, work/son in education?? but what is the difference between her being a CC'er and the case of Davis on the K&A and having to move out the area a certain distance? Will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks to see how far she moves, please keep us updated Alan.
  11. hope you find one close or a company that delivers, just looked all over my Aarrow not a CE mark or NR mark anywhere and passed BSC no trouble, never even realised it was welded steel construction unlike the Morso's cast, I would go for an Aarrow anyday. Good Luck.
  12. small problem is that there's only a couple of canals in the Somerset area that go no-where and the farmers do not do liver, so it's a car collection and as your location suggests your up North the cost of fuel may make it a bit more expensive then sourcing a supplier that does do liver, where was the Acorn for £299?
  13. The only Aarrow I can find near that price is the Aarrow/Arada AX2 with various names £299 & £46 pp from Ebay or from http://www.woodburnerwarehouse.co.uk/multi_fuel_stoves/arada_stoves/ax1_multifuel_stove.phtml
