  2. By all accounts the foods good and they tend to have 2 to 3 beers on, beer quality was acceptable last time I was in.
  3. Should have gone to the Boat, much better pub :-)
  4. I think it's how many free coffees you get (in designated Cafes) for every 100 miles covered, or something like that :-)

  8. Bl**dy dangerous dogs attacking the water now. :-)
  9. I feel a bit left out,I haven't got any points
  10. You learn something new everyday. My Granmother was from Dalton and I have family in Millom. I was dragged up in Windermere
  11. Your not a born and bred Cumbrian. It didn't exist 69 years ago. I was born in Westmorland and have never called myself a Cumbrian :-)
  12. Are they branching into camping, if so does it also mean that all my favourite camp sites will become 48hrs only, with no return for 28 days
  13. Try Rydal water. There used to be some monsters.
  14. Never had a problem with Dawns. As with all smallish towns taxi services they can be a bit hit and miss but have always been on time (when they've answered the phone in the first case). We normally shop then go to Wetherspoons and phone them from there. There's a list of cab companies on the wall at the end of the bar. Hope this helps
  15. Dawns cabs charge £4 back to Tyrley, Martin on Halsall is on route if you need supplies and is expecting to wind at Tyrley
  16. I seem to recall that the one in the article defaulted to neutral if there was no pressure on the throttle control on the remote unit
  17. Why not ferry Nab?. There's a few places near the ferry that have moorings. If you can trailer the boat out there used to be parking by the wardens office. Could try contacting the wardens office they should have some info on moorings.
  18. Could it be where the static caravans are on the right and the back of the school on the corner
  19. Have you parted with any money yet Looking at Kinver Canopies Facebook they seem to be expanding their work force. Good sign
  20. Don't know his name but there's one at norbury. He's got his number on the side of the boat moored on the offside opposite the visitor moorings
  21. About 4 years ago when visiting market Drayton got talking too a boater who'd been asked by a bloke if he could borrow his wheelbarrow, he never got his wheelbarrow back and the boat just down from him had coal nicked at the same time. Talking to locals in the town it was probably a well known scrote who soon after ended up working for HM.
  22. I've heard of things going missing but never had a problem. Have moored on all of the moorings in Market Drayton. If your concerned I would suggest mooring at the top of Tyrley locks and walking into town and getting a Taxi back (Dawns cabs are about £4). Wednesday markets good.
  23. Looked at both when having a boat built. Would recommend Colecraft every time
