Its easy and you are given instruction, we are on the Leicester Ring, the River Trent have least locks. We do 3 days to 3 weeks and find that most newbies take a couple of days to settle with the boat, but no one yet has come back and said they have not enjoyed themselves. Hi, We take our boat which is at Redhill throughto Shardlow and beyond for an over night stop which is the Trent and Mersey Canal. Its really lovely, plenty of good eating places\pubs. Sue
