  1. Oh, goodie ,goodie, gibbo, You know I had a lot more to say before I had a poke at gibbo, Erm, batteries are flat ionic exchange plates, you need an electrolyte, preferebly an infinite amounte, charging is dependant on a whole load of stuff, voulume and area, oh sorry, I'm a bit too pissed for this. You're wrong gibbo, a multiple bank in a low amp charging situation is better than a big one. I'm having probelms typing this, so I'll argue with you later, or preffin person, ammeteres at dawn!
  2. Yes, I think diesel and oil only add to the marine enviroment, and digging big holes in the counrtyside? they should be shot.
  3. I was so disapointed when I read what this thread was actually about.
  4. No, non of the above, why do you think I live on a canal in england? I'm sill fairly sure about the cats though.

  6. Interesting thread, I run multiple banks, 4x4(16), and I use diesel, solar PV, and a wind genny to charge, I swap banks for charging and usually charge for 3/4 hours a day, my main drive is electric (two milk float motors) and I can get an hour or two just on PV in summer, I also use electrolyte swapping and a constant temp chamber for the batts, (it also moves to trim the boat.) I must admit it's a bit complicated, more so since I installed an expert system to run the charging, (I used manual switching till a year ago!) but it seems to work, I can't reduce charging times, but I can make sure that when the system is charging off diesel, all the horsepower is going to the batts, also pumping the electrolyte around gives about a 30% improvement. I dread to think what my next inspector will say, as it looks like I'm gearing up for a frankenstein moment. I'm also pretty sure that drilling holes in the casings has invalidated my warranty.

  9. Snakes, scorpions and rats are essentialy timid, baboon spiders are not, they chase you, actually so do blue belly snakes, and bamsloons (big black snakes) I've not met a scorpion that will chase you, but there is a big black type that won't run away, there's only one answer, cats, lots of them, though then you have to worry about them, never trusted them, always look sneaky, just waiting to eat your face if you ask me.
  10. While I agree everyone under thirty should be locked up (except the pretty girls), I don't belive national service is the answer, "you want to teach them WHAT?"

  12. You mean you have to pay? In money? And they DON'T sleep with you after! What is the world coming, or not, to.
  13. Installing a woman is a tricky business, but it is essential that you remember, screws, NOT nails.
  14. Why pump water at bridge louts? Not when you can save the price of a pump out! Also I thought about a jet propulsion system when I was having my hull built, I thought a diffuse enough intake would eliminate the problems of jetsam and flotsam, something like two parallel intakes built in either side of the hull. Not having seen it done anywhere before, and not wanting to discover a really good reason why it wouldn't work after I made the hull modifications i shelved it, but it still seems the only way you could run one without it fouling all the time.
  15. I know of no weird people on the cut, except the ones in my cellar and they only talk to me on wednesdays.
