  1. So here we go, i have a few ideas of things i want to upgrade about my boat. Mainly power to start with, i only have 1 12v plug (cigarette lighter power) so i want to put in maybe 3 more around. I do have an inverter but it only kicks out 1000w (i think) ill upload a picture, when i was a land human i was quite the little gamer and my PlayStation wont run off 1000w. I've been looking around and seen a few that will kick out 2000-3000 watts (Midlands chanderlers), any advice? From the invertor i know ill have to add more batteries as im a constantly cruising currently, i have a spare starter battery and my current 2 leasures are also actually starter batteries, how easy is it to hook up the other battery and should i look into buying another battery (an actual leisure one). Finally i have 1 solar panel which i believe is a 100w one is worth adding another one? If so how easy it is to do so? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Robbie Ally's Mist
  2. Not really lol, some are saying I can dump some are saying I can't
  3. I thought the fish will eat it honestly or the ducks... I've seen it in Ricky and Wolverhampton and Birmingham
  4. Im dyslexic and I did read it but there wasn't any specifics, and neither confirms nor denys urinating into the cut I KNEW THAT 1 yay lol, I've told a few walkers about this myself
  5. Okay ill stop throwing my peel out the window and get a compost bin on my roof instead
  6. Lets say I have (because I just did) but its legal mumbo jumbo anyway of a layman's translation?
  7. Okay so before everyone jumps to the "nothing!!!" Answer im sure there are something because our sinks run into the canal so... for example I throw my vegetable peel out my side hatch, but that got me thinking where is the line drawn at what we can throw out? Ive seen many a boater urinating off the side of their boats so is that allowed? What can we and cant we put into the canal?
  8. I recently had some work done at Lyons boatyard on the Stratford union near cockmoor forest the engineer only charges £35 an hour +parts (which are also very cheap)
  9. I saw one of these in Birmingham suburbs under a bridge I was wondering the same
  10. Why cant we enjoy both? I recently bought my live aboard because its cheaper than a house but also because I love the heritage of the canals as I live on esa and dla I can't afford a house and if I got one through the government it would most likely be in a bad neighbourhood or worse so I moved onto a boat, which the government will pay my mooring fees and licence for me i'd rather have that than live in a drug den
  11. It was meant to be a joke, she does her fair share hence the name she drives while I do the locks and she cleans up too
  12. They are both in the same place, what I was implying Is I'm currently rolling up the rope while she watches which is pretty much how all the work gets done. We were on the grand union just past bridge 21 opposite an expensive pub called the boat inn
  13. Totally agree with this, and not only that but if you ask politely for them to slow down they have ago at you like YOU'RE the bad guy... in my experience its normally ex work boats
  14. Hellooo my name is robbie, wouldn't say i was new to boating as ive hired before (yeah i was one of them...) but recently my dad bought me my own place... ALLY'S MIST!!! My partner and i have been liveaboards for just over a month, and we already have our battle scars so to speak. Would love a pow wow with a veteran boater as im very shakey and have a few things i want to change/improve about her. Image 1 is us the day we boarded. Image 2 is pretty much the work load in a nutshell.
