  2. You fellas are quite right....`'eeeeee`' with green and red light dying out. I do believe I have sulphated batteries so I'll change them out....thanks all for your input I have learned a lot
  3. So, I have checked my batteries and the bank of 4 show 12v on my multimeter and I have taken the inverter out, hooked it to the car battery and it works fine. When I hook it back to the boat battery bank, it does this .... any ideas gratefully received.

  5. Since I've been admonished for my original choice of words, then thieving scum works for me too. Reg, I am ever so sorry if I hurt your feelings.
  6. I have a cratch cover on the bow with a forward facing glass window with a self adhesive lead light effect on it, ie, the pane is diagonally criss crossed with lead to give the leadlight effect. I have a private mooring behind a padlocked gate and the boat is left alone during the week. Came onboard today and noticed the edge bit of lead has been prised away from the window. The would be thief must have been disturbed and left in a hurry. Pissed me off. The stuff is worth less than pennies but now I have a choice. Do I repair it, or strip it off to deter a second attempt? I think Ill strip it before they break the glass trying again......
  7. Whats wrong with general purpose EP2? I was planning on using that?
  8. I am on the market looking to buy. When I saw this I stopped and scratched my head. Same as you guys, I immediately thought steer clear, and having read your post, I haven't changed my mind. If something looks to good to be true.....
  9. No. The O.P. is on night shift and was scratching his head trying to think of a non-stupid question to put on here as his first post. I think, given the amount of replies, I succeeded! I am however, married to the original mega-worrier, and the great response from everyone will surely put even her at ease.(maybe;)
  10. So there you are, moored in the centre of anywhere, not a lot of other boats around. What about crime on the cut? Is there a lot of it? How secure do you feel at night, and things that go bump? Theft of your stuff left out over night on the roof etc, much of that go on? What's the stories you've heard, if any?
  11. Our border terriers name is Moose, so that makes me Moosey! Me and my precious gift, (and the hound) have just started the looking process and this is an early thank you for all the info we have already gleaned from here. We live in a small canal town in Staffs and have long time considered doing what you all have already done, it just makes sense. Kids are nearly gone so the empty nest syndromes kicking in...... I look forward to interacting with you all in the coming days, weeks, months and years .... ttfn Big Moosey!!
