Thanks guys, will have a look when I have time this evening Had a look but can't find anything in Scotland, quite fancy a visit to England canals anyway, the Caledonian canal is something I'd like to do in summer when it's likely to be lighter snow :-)

I'm up in Scotland so no idea about canal geography or what town is nice etc I,ll check on heating when I get around to booking but log burner sounds good. I'm not looking to travel too far, but you've got to have a go at driving a boat given the chance Thanks for the replies, the search continues

I know a few of you think I'm an alter ego on here, but I'm not. I just wandered in a while back with narrow boat dreams Anyway, long story short, was booked up for Amsterdam which got cancelled and I managed to convince her indoors it really was a good idea to chill on a boat. So. Having very little knowledge, nearly none, of the canal world, where is the best location to try and book this month for a gentle potter around with decent pubs and beautiful short distance cruising. Any good rentals there you know of? Nothing fancy, priority is nice relaxing pace and atmosphere for a few days Your help is appreciated

Can I ask who you booked with? I'm thinking of booking first attempt on a narrow boat later this month, so any advice, what to avoid/look for would be good. Cheers

I see max has found one of my many nurseries on OUR boat. I hope she will help look after my little ones so they thrive into a blossoming community Even though I have four pairs of hands, it can be tough rearing so many babies, which will no doubt be in the hundreds so your support is appreciated The little ones she found is nothing compared to the ones under her pillow and bed. DO NOT LOOK, whatever you do.... Sweet dreams X

imagine so many people being scared of cute lil arachnids. They get rid of flies and rarely eat people so leave them alone

Reports coming in about a moonbeam wandering around muttering in the dark about losing her boat. Hopefully the sunshine will assist with her rescue

Im Trying to show sympathy but you but your lack of empathy with my kind makes it difficult. Especially just now when I'm struggling to buy shoes for the kids...... Four pairs each, it isn't easy you know
