  1. Thanks Richard just spoke to Sue, I know where to come in future!
  2. Cheers Richard I'm glad you enjoyed the question
  3. Hi can anyone tell me if the LR2 and SR2 head gasket sets are interchangeable? SR2 sets seem easy to find, not so LR2.....
  4. It could be but I only have a verbal mooring agreement which in itself is a long story!
  5. I'm DIY for sure my boat needs a proper repaint all over 42 feet of hard work!
  6. Hi thanks for the reply. There is nothing in the licence renewable pack of info. I'm not on the tow path side I'm in a mooring on the offside so no obstruction at all. Maybe it's a noise issue but my engine is louder than any power tools I'm using.
  7. Hi just looking to see if anyone can cast any light on this subject. I have been told today by the owner of the moorings where my boat is moored that Bridgewater Canal Co brought in a rule last year that prevents work being carried out on boats without a work permit does anyone know anything about this as I cannot find any details on the websites of Peel Holdings or Bridgewater Canal?
  8. I did consider water cooled but the T&M is very weedy and muddy so probably not a good idea at present although the hot water could be a bonus! It's a pity I cannot make better use of the heat from the Lister engine
  9. Hi guys, Thank you for your responses. I really should explain myself better! I say underpowered as I am next to the River Weaver and on a few occasions it would have been easier to accept the flow of the river than battle against it. I am not into speeding I just prefer the torque of an engine that can get me out of trouble if required. I am an engineer by trade so more than happy to do some metalwork to get a 3 pot engine in if needed I guess it will come down to money at the end of the day. The other concern is I know very little about the history of the engine and would prefer knowing where the engine came from etc. Tony and Richard could you please send me a PM with prices please?
  10. Hi all I currently have a Harborough Marine 42ft all steel NB with a Lister LR2 9hp engine that has had overheating issues which I have now resolved but I am considering an engine upgrade due to lack of power of the current unit. Anybody recommend a TS2? or other SR / ST option?
  11. Hi just an update, Muck cleaned off fins and she is running cooler but I am still considering an upgrade as 9hp on this 42ft boat seems under powered. Any suggestions as to what to consider?
  12. Cheers Richard I will take a look. Oops sorry the image rotated
  13. Thanks again so I've got an alien ?. She has certainly been reworked at the back as some of the steel is clearly newer than the original build. I prefer the idea of a starboard vent it will be quieter if nothing else! The tiller looked wrong to me also but at least the stern tube greaser is above deck ?
  14. Uploaded image hopefully Thank you guys for your assistance pictures attached of the engine, stern deck and starboard side.
