  1. Our basic timer had this fix, pressing the flame button to start and stop. Pressing stop at any time and the Webasto would run through its shutdown cycle.
  2. I've just fitted a 7day timer to our Webasto, purchased from Webasto marine, it is a simple swap with the original, unplug old, plug in New. Gives 4 settings per day for however long you want. I believe there is a fix for the basic control to allow manual on/off for longer running time, it's posted on the forum if you do a search.
  3. When in the marina ,especially in recent foggy weather, smoke from our neighbours gets drawn into our boat. Has set alarm off once. I expect our may also be drawn downwind to the next. Sometimes looks like a scene from a Dickensian story.
  4. Was there last September, had an outboard then but this disappeared some time ago. Has been broken into leaving the boat open to the elements and slowly filing with rainwater.
  5. By the look of the crack,it seems to be very rusty inside and there is a faint line in the finish leading away from it, it could be a flaw in the original casting.
  6. Someone had made several attempts to drive the pin in at the front near to the concrete but failed to get it secure. There are before and after photos on The Friendly Narrowboat Forum.
  7. No, the the rope is now coiled on the front deck and the middle rope is set just behind the concrete together with the stern rope, so no ropes across the tow path. Hope it stays OK as the wind is moving the bow.
  8. The photo is recent, I walked past yesterday but did not notice the rubbish, the boat still looks very wet inside and I imagine the engine will need some attention before it can move under its own steam. It's only a few hundred yards from where it sank.
  9. This boat unfortunately sank a few weeks back, I don't know the owners circumstances, but it was on another forum that he was well known in the area and people were concerned for his welfare and was being put up somewhere until he could get the boat relocated. I seem to remember that he had a toy dog that stood on the rear deck. As for the rubbish this stretch all ways seems to be littered with bags of beer cans and convenience food wrappers.
  10. Sounds like a Vetus water lubricated stern tube. The red lever should be in line with the rubber tubing, if it is leaking from this tubing check that the pipe clips are tight or that the tube is not perished
  11. I think the control illustrated is for the ducted hot air version,as fitted I believe to some smaller boats like the Aintree beetle.
  12. I have a Webasto heating system and it is not programmable apart from the setting you mention, I switch it manually. I believe a new programmer will be available in the new year from Webasto dealers.
