  1. Hi all, Just following up on this for anyone that has problems in the future, after calibrating many times, it turns out the sensor is faulty, I got the imporession from Vetus that its a common fault, and they just dont work, they sent me an old school float one which now works perfectly
  2. Hi all, Recently fitted a replacement Vetus untrasonic sensor which wont work in the tank. I've calibrated it off of the tank and tested by moving it towards a wall which works fine. As soon as I put it back on the tank (tried 20% full and empty post pumpout) it just registers full! Its a plastic vetus 215l tank, hole is as per the vetus instructions, its close to the tank wall but over the 50mm as specified by Vetus. Anyone got any ideas?
  3. Hi All, Just to finish up on this, I returned the inverter to Victron via Bardens, they said a charge fuse had gone which was behind the 12v charger circuit, plus they said it had some PCB damage. They fixed and returned for £150 odd, not too bad I suppose considering the delivery too. Hopefully someone will find this helpful in the future
  4. Good to know, And are the warranties good? - are they in the UK? I'm pretty shocked that mine has to go all the way to the Netherlands TBH!
  5. What brand/s are better? - just in case it's not worth getting fixed
  6. Thanks, I'm confident, but just wanted to run it past the forum to be sure. Cheers
  7. Great, thanks for confirmation. I'll be sure to do a proper job!
  8. Hi all, Our inverter needs to go back to the Netherlands to be repaired. So my question is, can I remove the inverter, and to keep our shore power, connect the AC IN and AC OUT wires together connected to the inverter, and then put a 12V battery charger on the 12V line to keep that going and the battery's charged ? The full details are here of the fault for future reference http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=81056 Thanks
  9. Hi all, Following on from this, the inverter needs to go back to the Netherlands to be repaired. So my question is, can I remove the inverter, and to keep our shore power, connect the AC IN and AC OUT together, and then put a 12V battery charger on the 12V line to keep that going? Thanks
  10. Thanks both! Will try them too, seems a bit weird it cant be fixed in the UK
  11. no remote, I emailed Victron who forwarded to Barden - I guess they are the UK suppliers, they're saying I need to send it to them to send to the Netherlands to be fixed, god knows how much this is going to cost! I also emailed Sellweb as recommended on here, hopefully they'll be able to help!
  12. I dont have the software, I'll give it a go though, I have a network cable for the RJ45 socket, but it says You also need a Mk2 USB, is that just a standard USB cable? OK great, I'll try that first
  13. Tried turning it all off / back on a good few times with no luck. re: UPS setting, its always worked in the past and I haven't changed anything, there are some dip switches for other options / setup, but as nothing has changed, I cant see why I'd need to tinker with them. Ours has no mega fuse, Its just a circuit board (with the dip switches in the top left), and then the cables connected at the bottom, I've also looked on the back and bottom (should I have taken the bottom / back cover off?), no fuse / breaker. Damn thing!
  14. I dont think so, RCD works fine (using it now on shore power), 240v coming out of Victron and onto RCD, but not when unplugged.
  15. Hi all, We have a Multi Plus 12v 3000va 120amp inverter which has stopped working (unit is 4 years old) When I unplug / turn off the shore power to our boat, the inverter fails kick in to supply 240v power (It is on) I have checked the 12v terminals going in to the inverter which are fine (12.8v), but it seems the inverter wont switch and turn on (no LEDs on the inverter side on panel either). Perhaps there is an internal fuse that needs replacing? - I've had the cover off, and cant see anything, Its worked fine until now, (and works fine on shore power) I did trip the power recently due to a faulty set of fairy lights, perhaps that's fried something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
