  1. Its scary that it can be considered a tripod = commercial!
  2. Hello I have "tug 14", I inherited her from my dad as a part finished project. I think she's a lovely little boat even though there's no tug deck, electrics, stuff like that. Tim, it would be great to see any photos you have of Dovetail, I will email you
  3. Also, goldfish can poo quite a lot, so making the water polluted quickly. They do get big quickly and will be stunted if kept in small tanks (think about the ancient oriental practise of wrapping womens feet to make them stay small) How about something like zebra danios? They stay small so are more suited to tank sizes that might fit on a boat, and can live in cool water
  4. Athy, that's exactly right. The boat is falling to bits and about to sink, honest! The boat does have a ruston, probably why Dad bought it, and I love it. Noisy, leaky, grumpy, but with character. good value boaters are also worth finding. I'm building some cupboards with wood I rescued from the bonfire, and the bushes often contain hidden treasure. Does that count?
  5. Thanks for that. I am not going to sell the boat, just need an official bit of paper to keep everything legal. You are right, I did inherit the boat. Its far too good on the canals to sell it! So I now live on it
  6. Could anyone reccommend me any good valuers please? Who can come out to the coventry canal. And somebody who isn't over-optimistic, as I just need to keep the probate bods happy rather than sell the boat for as much as possible! Cheers
  7. If only it was just cyclists. We regularly have small motorbikes go down the towpath, small enough they can lift and wriggle them around the bike barriers by the bridges. So now we have police on motorbikes too Good luck with keeping the width under bridges as it is. That plan to make it 7 foot is daft
  8. Thanks Tony Casp, I now have hope that once mine has had a damn good service and fiddle with, mine will start fine too. Will be good not to need 3 hands from time to time as grumpy days come. At least my manual has arrived
  9. Iain, you say not really relevant, but your link was a lovely distraction, thank you. Much beefier engine power there than here, bet it sounds good. I probably have a 2VTH, with variuos bits and pieces which seem to have been robbed from a variety of other rustons starting with Vs. Its making getting my head around getting parts interesting! But I wouldn't want a turn a key and the engine starts boring new engine hidden in a box Tony, would you be able to give me details of your wife's company? They sound usefull!
  10. Just wondering if many of you have these in your boats. Are they still cantankerous when well maintained? Mine is feeling grumpy at the moment and is in need of a bit of love, but still puts a smile on my face when she does decide to start
