  1. Co is .co.uk. Know what you mean, I had to empty my purse to the postman when I got caught out. Not a daft question.
  2. First off, Richard have taken your advice and changed the font - I like Comic Sans but I know there is an aversion to it... have taken your point thanks! Cheshire Rose - sorry not yet in china, maybe one day? Thanks for the suggestions, there are ideas for other products. Martin, Waterways Recovery Group - this has hit the button! Will be contacting them. I'm already in contact with one of the Canal Trusts, and have placed their coffee shops/facilities/etc. locations on the maps - will try more. OK - the mugs can now be bought on line from CanalLife.co.uk. For each 'Canal Route Map' mug sold - £1.00 goes to charity. This includes mugs with the Queen's Jubilee Logo on it too. There are various styles of mugs to choose from, from skeins, 'stainless steel non-spill travellers mugs with a lid' (for those that have the 'what's the time problem' ) - cheapest costs £10.95 per mug, £8.60 per 250. Maker's Guarantee says: Secure Shopping Guarantee: Your credit card transactions with us are 100% safe. Period. Our secure server software (SSL) is the e-commerce industry standard and encrypts all payment information when you make a purchase. This means no one will ever gain access to your private information. They Promise: If you don't love it, we'll take it back. If you are not 100% satisfied, you can return it for a replacement or refund within 30 days of receipt. VAT is included in the price, but postage isn't. Each mug can be easily customised, you can add your NB's name, business name etc. at NO extra costs. I've tried 3 different factories, they want minimum orders of over 300 per design (compare that to how many canal systems there are, some of the bigger canal maps have to be over 3 mugs, such as the Grand Union) - it would cost far too much. In any case, the price of cups (without VAT) come to around the £5.00 mark and I'd have lay out £1500.00 per mug design/canal map.... so sorry that's not on. But I'm open to advice, suggestions, etc. Just please email me jennifer -at- canallife.co.uk. THANKS Sheriff for your support here! And to everyone else! Jennifer.
  3. Hi Mayalld Thanks - you're quite right, every design has printed - you can see it on the mug image. The 'canal' bit is picked up from there... it's a map, but the rest is my creation. Do you think this would be a problem for anyone? It's easy enough for me to change the 'canal' bit, but the images are a well known form of reference. To all those who contribute to the wiki canal route project THANKS and this is one of the reasons why I'd like to repay back into a canal restoration charity.
  4. Thanks for the encouragement, that's exactly the help I need. I do the artwork, pots should be on website this weekend. Every 50p counts! canallife.co.uk
  5. It a mug with a canal map on it.... I'm willing to donate half my profit, about 50p per mug No squirrels will be hurt in the making of the mugs!
  6. Nothing illegal I'm willing to donate half my profit on a different, arty but practical Canal product/s which you use every day! Nothing sinister, shady... I just want to give something back to the canal system. Word of mouth, maybe a few marketing suggestion.... that sort of help. Your idea of a local trust is a good one.... just thought maybe there was a central charity that divvies to the neediest canal restoration team from a donation pool... Thanks for your help, I'm in a learning curve!
  7. Canal Life Canallife.co.uk Canal themed jigsaws puzzles in easy, hard and harder. Get your boat jigsawed for free!
  8. Bodies in a tunnel!!! That's my biggest nightmare!
  9. Hi, This thread may appear a bit bazaar - but I'm serious. (I feel a bit strange writing it!) I think I may have come up with a way of increasing (in a small way) the coffers of a canal restoration charity. First though, which charity would you choose to support? Would they offer me a little help (no money involved) to get my 'little acorn' off the ground? Who should I approach? Sorry for all the questions - please humour me! Thanks!
