  1. When we travel somewhere in our boats and somebody says oh my goodness how long did that take you, isn't it a case of how long I want to take? Who knows if this mileage, rather than hours, was just an incorrect quote on the program? If the whole claim wasn't valid and supported the risk of failure at court would have been pretty high and further loss incurred, surely. As this topic is huge, there are maybe some who haven't read through from some of the posts read; but as Matty40s has said a lot of people bought mooring on spec. They were lied to for months and duped into going there and yes probably checked the place before travelling, but again the promised land never materialised. But for the most part it was the treatment received that was probably the final straw as Frank and Dave also endured, along with many others and indeed still are from what I hear first hand. Most of the gripes are throughout the topic history. Useful reading for insomnia now I think IMO
  2. Indeed...... I'm sure he wouldn't want the sum broadcast as it's not his normal settlement! So yes it was agreed I would keep quiet. How long for I do not believe was written, so I must dig out the paperwork again However, the TV program will be going out in the spring last I heard....... 'The Legaliser'. Don't know how much will be edited out there so will watch with intrigue I'm sure a couple of others will be also
  3. Firmly banked hence the good Xmas comment. The rest I will not go into on this thread, as I say it's for another topic......
  4. So, finally I got a result and I am a very happy person. Got more than I hoped for but through sheer perseverance. Yes!! Got back other bits as well as the deposit. Cannot disclose due to agreement, but let say I got the value of a good few more pontoons off him. Yes it was hard going at times, but the day I left I told him he'd regret crossing me. Tenacious my middle name. Tony if you look in and up yours mate. Frank cheers to you too for the support earlier in the unfortunate business. Thanks also to you lot on here for the continued promotion of the dreaded Barby Mooring Ltd and warnign others of what may befall them at his hands. I will have a great Xmas and may even use the file to kindle the fire to you all.... Now I have another situation......... cough cough - will start another topic in the near future, may have company on that one too All I will say is New & Used Boat Co!!
  5. Nope you are right, but then he is operating a business he can't afford and will be forced into Bankruptcy. As I recall, if you can't pay your debts you are out of business? Can't recall the exact quote, but no doubt someone will on here? Like Trapper said, I am not doing this for the money; the time and effort far outweight the result. But, people like him have to be shown for what they are.
  6. There are still some of us biding our time awaiting the hearing. As Trapper has said, its a long haul getting to that point and not for the feint hearted. But win or loose, I live with the satisfaction he will fall one day and I think we should all congregate on the cut when he does. Our own little rally Watch this space because I hope there are many others who are also weighting him down with court hearings. I hope coming here has given them strength to carry on with it. I will meet up with Frank when mines done, celebrate commiserate I don't care really. Maybe we should announce when and all get together for a party. Well done again Trapper
  7. His use of seed is like everything else there "used sparingly" My case is still ongoing and until we progress to 'Hearing' I don't think there is anymore to add to the TV program. Things may well change at Barby once it goes out to the public!! Should be latter part of this year. So far as existing moorers knowing about the 25% off, would be interesting to know how they feel about it and if they are being offered the same. We have a couple on here I believe?
  8. Not sure if you are referring to the marina development or the ongoing challenge to recover our money; being those of us who had enough of broken promises by McMaster and were forcibly evicted so he could reap the benefit of our deposits. The filming for TV has started and I for one found the support their legal guy gave very informative. He is quite approachable, although I don’t think I would like to be opposing him in court McMaster is clearly treating this as a joke, which I hope will come back around to bite his a**e big time. Others are further along in that process than me. So I’m afraid that still nothing of any substance to tell you all. Danny may have information of the program he can release to you and when (autumn time I believe)? I hope if we are successful, it sets a precedence and warning to others who have similar get rich quick schemes at the expense of others. I would imagine a lot of moorer’s at Barby are setting off soon for summer, assuming they can get depth of course. I understand tempers are flaring at locks already, from a few I have spoken to. Roll on Autumn.........
  9. I have pm'd Danny. I think I and the others are rather cautiously sitting on the fence here. On one hand we are desperate for this company to be shown for what they are, but on the other we are desperate to get our money back. No disrespect to Danny but we have no knowledge of his credentials, he has only just come on here and as we know Mr McMaster and crew also come on here. Not an easy decision for any of us to make. Speaking purely for myself here as I haven't yet been in touch with others. In addition, I stopped commenting because so much of the thread started going off topic. It seems to have settled once again thankfully.
  10. The way he speaks to his poor down trodden son I would be surprised if he even stuck around. There's a limit to anyones tolerence. I think he bully's the pair of them dreadfully and I do believe that others have witnessed the not so happy family. Did you read the post about his mum buying the house? I wonder if any money actually changed hands permanently
  11. getting any dog you can never be 100% having a baby you can never be 100% what it'll turn out like either, you just hope the love and guidance you give keeps them on the right road. If we all gave up trying then there might as well be no foster homes either. They are full of societies rejects for one reason or other.
  12. The problem starts at he beginning with the breeders, who are allowed to get away with it. They breed the dogs to death and I suggest you go google 'puppy farm' if you really want to see how it starts. Breeders do not do home visits to see if the dog and home are suitable for the owners, unlike rescues. Breeders sell the dog for what they can get and to whom will buy. Most just want a cheap dog. Rescues do interview and invade the home of the person who wants the dog. I do home checks myself and if it isn't suitable for the breed of dog then the potential owners don't get it. In addition, a donation in the region of £100+ usually sorts the dedicated dog person from the fly by nights on a whim. They are also given follow up visits and before the dog goes they must sign a declaration that if they no long want the dog for whatever reason the dog is returned. To reply to 'gaggle' and the uninformed comments about dog lovers making a good living out of rescues; I think I already stated that most, if not all, rescues are charities and accounted for in the public domain with their accounts open for public viewing. Voluntarily run for the most part!! If dogs aren't wanted even the idiots know how to tie a knot, thats proven. Tie them outside a rescue, a shop, a vet, anywhere public and someone will notice. Lets also not leave the down and outs and drunks of this world out of the conversation. Again for the most they love their dog. But once drunk or drugged they become different personalities. This can go on till the cows come home and don't think it hasn't been debated to death in the dog world. Start with ALL breeders being licenced and heafty fines if caught without. Like humans there is no excuse for unwanted litters. If a bitch is accidently 'caught' an injection the next day will prevent the pregnancy. Bring back dog licences but not silly money like they used to be 7s 6d (yeah I know showing my age). Spot checks on dog walkers will help that. Compulsory microchipping. No chip and you get a ticket, just like parking illegally. Anyhow now I have thrown some more into the pot for you all. But, puppy farms, especially in Welsh Wales, there is a whole new thread but not for boating forums. Have a nice day now So I guess because its written it must be so? As I understood it a lot of dogs were drown because they fell off the working boats, usually from the roof. I do believe that a lot were actually tied/chained to the chimney to prevent such occurance? JMHO
