  1. Thank you Paul - this seems promising .... Thank yo - I just checked out Paul C's link and it sounds like the same thing .... Great stuff - think I've got it now and thanks for the tip
  2. Hi John - thanks for getting back to me. Excuse my ignorance, new to all of this really .... I have t-mobile dongle but the connecting USB port will not connect to the iPad - is that the same as your three wifi - can i ask where you got it from? Tink Hi Martin - many thanks - you've kinda done a Bizzard on me and lost me! I'm hearing about devices that are completely alien to me but, will do my best to wade through it. T
  3. I've been talking to Bizzard about how one can get Broadband afloat - but he's confused me with his bizzard like techno ideas! Bless him. I understand inorder to get wifi, you need broadband connection. Generally this is done through BT landline or other. Obviously not an easy thing to come by on the river! I have an iPad Air but can only get a good reception when connected to wifi. Does anyone have any bright ideas to help me out please? Tink !
  4. I hired a widebeam from Moonraker Boats near Bath on the K & A. I was designing my own widebeam and thought I should see if I can handle one (I use to have a narrow boat). And to be honest, it was easier to handle than my old narrowboat. My widebeam is 10' 6" wide and I have plenty of room, although another foot would be nice. It is true - you are restricted in terms of lock dimensions and narrow canals. It depends on how far you want to go and where you moor your boat - in terms of connecting canals. Good luck. 5. Thank you everyone for your replies - I'm very new at all of this and it's great fun! Where have I been all this time? Not going until August time so I will keep you posted of my travels and no doubt, 'mishaps'! Tink. Of course you did ... how's the rum going? You haven't done the whole bottle already!!
  6. Thank you both - that's really helpful - any other tips for boating on the thames would be very much appreciated. Tinkerbell1
  7. Sorry, I should have said - free overnight towpath moorings - Tinkerbell1
  8. I am planning a trip on the non-tidal thames from Brentford to (hopefully) Henley. Can anyone advise me of some safe and secure moorings throughout this section please? Tinkerbell1
