  1. That should work. Might end up with a slight ripple in the flange (upturn) though - out of sight when the hatch is closed.

  6. With the bypass valve closed, all the return flow has to go through the header tank easily releasing any air. It's not often you don't know all the answers 🙂!

  12. Yes the fatigue crack started from the stress raiser at the sharp bend. Be very carful with a welded repair: the fatigue strength of welds is much lower than that of plain plate!
  13. I think you'll find that Nylon is a thermoplastic. As a aside; my mother was a co-author of a paper (Proceedings of the Royal Society) on the crystal structure of Nylon.

  17. Polyester is not regarded as a good adhesive - perhaps why it's not used as a paint.
  18. Take out the glass and you're left with polyester, not epoxy resin. Not the same thing at all!
